I am a Ohio resident, but I am in the military, and stationed in Virginia. I want to open a ecommerce webstie. Do I need a ohio business license or Virgina.

Call the local government where the business is located and ask them, many people do operate on-line business such as selling on eBay, or Yahoo. out of there homes with out filing for a business license, and run small part time businesses probably not filing for business licenses and opening themselves up to another layer of bureaucracy and taxation.
if you have a physical store front with employees and such Yes you would need a Business license.

Nope, you sure don’t. The IRS only requires you to pay a tax once. If you are just station in Virgina and will be returning home soon then Id buy my license in Ohio. If you do this give your mailing address as Virgina. If you will be permanent in Virgina then buy your business license from that state, county and city where you are station. Good luck.
