If you lose your business license, you are still liable for the lease, unless the lease is under a name of a corporation (in most cases, the landlord would ask for a personal guarantee).

The business is a franchise or not does not make any different. You would probably lose all your investment if the landlord foreclose your business.

One good thing is that you may be able to sublease the property to someone else with the consent of the landlord.
