The counselor at SCORE will most likely advise you to write a business plan which is very good advice because it will force you to dig out all of the start up details and the costs of starting an Event Planners Business and force you to also understand all of the aspects of this business including the customers you'll concentrate on (your market ) and how you'll go after them. I would contact local advertising/marketing or media agencies...these type of companies do advertising campaigns for larger companies, event planning and ways to promote other businesses. I would also try contacting national planners such as HelmsBriscoe- they may be hiring a regional planner in your area, or ISMP (International Socitey of Meeting Planners.) Have you ever considered starting your own business? Good meeting planners are hard to come by...and I also know that companies are starting to really jazz up meetings/events/conferences!
