How do I go about opening a franchise for a renowned food outlet?

I am interested in opening a franchise outlet for a worldwide food chain but am not sure of how to go about it. Email responses are rare and they often inquire about the location. While searching for a space, I am often asked for details of the ‘deal’.

Well, one thing to consider when opening a franchise is the franchise compliance that you’ll be expected to operate under. Certain terms and conditions obviously vary between franchises, but there are definitely things to consider. There’s a good site that has a list of things you might expect to encounter from a franchisers perspective. As a franchisee, you’ll have certain expectations, but if it’s a reputable business, they’ll obviously have their S together a little better. http://www.francompliance.com has a list of things that you might expect to run into from a franchiser’s perspective.

Depending on if you’re a first time business owner or not, you also have to consider that a franchise will already have a set standard of practices/business operation.

Go to the company’s website that you wish to franchise from. Look for "franchise information" or a similar link. There you will find estimates of start-up costs, franchise fees, availability of certain territories, and other information.

Call the corporation’s home office and ask for the franchising department. Most companies that franchise have either a web page that will give you the basics or a whole packet they can send. Expect to have $50,000 or more in the bank as liquid assets and possibly a net worth of much more. The good part is that a company which has a successful franchising operation can help you locate the location, do the advertising, etc.
