How long will an entry level accounting job search expect to last in this economy?

I graduated from FAU with a 3.45 GPA majoring in Accounting. How long can I expect to search for a job in the South Florida area before finding employment?

I found a list of Florida job search resources that can help. http://www.employmentserviceagencies.com/Florida-Employment-Agencies.html

    Good Luck!

    Depends.

    Did you do good internships/co-ops?

Do you have ANY accounting experience?

What are you looking for? Public? Private? Non-profit?

Do you have solid job references from ANY job? Former bosses willing to write letters of recommendations?

Are you realistic about your starting salary? Are you willing to start at a job beneath your education to get a foot in the door?

Too many variables to help you, just know that you are not only competing against other new grads, you are competing against starving, desperate experienced workers too.

    Good luck

Not to worry. Accountants are in demand right now.
