I am 13, want to start my own business and have a couple questions?

So I want to make some money and I can’t work a really job until I turn 14 in September. So I’m going to start my own sitting business. What should I call it? Any other information about starting my own business, where to advertise, how to advertise, or anything let me know! Please help! Thanks!

Since you cannot drive, your business must necessarily be local.

Do you have any particular experience or qualifications for house / pet / baby sitting? (You didn’t say)

Word of mouth is your best bet. You don’t want to post signs telling predators where to find you. Make sure every adult you know knows that you are looking for sitting customers. Help out at your church nursery, or at your local library on story day. Offer to watch a neighbor’s kids for free while they go grocery shopping. Then give the kids your full attention. Good sitters are worth their weight in gold.

im 13 and i have found it pretty easy to book a job if you have gone to a babysitting class. if you have, write it on a flyer and hang it at a sub shop or some other buisness if they have a bulletin board open for advertising :)
