Is there good free downloadable tax software available?
Many free tax software only allow users to file their tax online. But, users may prefer preparing their tax on their computers. Is there good free downloadable tax software available?
Please note the question is NOT regarding to online preparation of tax but DOWNLOABLE tax software. The downloadable tax software means users can download the tax software and then prepare their tax on their computers.
The Tax Act is downloadable but do not know whether it is the only downloadable tax software or not. Do you know more?
I used TurboTax.com and Tax.com
Both numbers came out exactly the same – to double check.

Simply make up a name, a ss number, an address, but input your right numbers.
At the end print it out – just make sure you don’t hit send to e-file.

I have heard of Tax Act. Also if you make a certain amount of income then most of the major companies like H&R, Quicken lets you do the free one and do free e-filing also.
No. If you want down-loadable software, you have to pay for it.
