It depends on the company and your experience. If this is for a larger corporation, you probably could expect more than minimum wage IF your background and computer skills are good. Also, the area of the country where you live means a great deal. How is the economy in your area? If you have a great background and cutting edge skills, live in a larger city or suburb I would ask for $10/hr.They are saving on you since they won’t have to pay benefits as a part timer. If you have no background, your skills are lacking and you live in smaller city with a bad economy, I would ask for $8/hr.

Be ready, this is grunt work and you’ll be doing the "dirty work" for the sales team. Get your work done on time, accuracy is of utmost importance, be resourceful and ask the sales reps for feedback.

A sales assistant is a fancy word for a secretary or administrative assistant. They mostly do some of the mundane tasks the salesman doesn’t want or have time to do. Salary tends to be low, usually at or just above minimum wage. It could be a good way to learn about sales as a profession.
